Issues with the Chrome Extension
Learn how to troubleshoot issues with Interseller's Chrome Extension.
Chrome extensions can be hard to maintain especially when websites change constantly and sometimes extensions don't play nice. Here are a couple of things you can do before we have to get into the weeds:
Do you have an active seat on your team?
Only users assigned a seat on the team will be able to source contacts with the Chrome extension. If you're not seeing the Interseller bear icon on contact profiles, you may not have a seat on your team to do so.
You can check your Team page to confirm with a checkmark next to your name. If you don't have a seat assigned to you, you can ask owner of your team account to add a seat for you.
Restart your browser
Restarting your browser may help with some issues between websites and Chrome. A good restart can help clears things up!
Make sure you're logged into Interseller
Sometimes logging out and back into Interseller will also resolve issues with the Chrome extension.
Reinstall the Chrome extension
Your browser may not have updated our Chrome extension properly so you can try removing the extension via chrome://extensions and reinstalling it on the Chrome web store.
Did you install a new Chrome extension recently?
If so, sometimes extensions don't play nice with ours and it tends to interfere with what we do.
Go to your extensions by visiting chrome://extensions and disabling the ones that you installed recently. Afterwards, give your browser a good hard refresh and see if that works.
Are you seeing only "website not found" results?
First check to make sure you can actually view a profile. If you source too many profiles in a short amount of time, you'll get a warning and throttled for about a day. We recommend waiting a while before ramping up again.
If you can view profiles, you may want to try giving your browser a restart. If it continues, please reach out to us so that we can help and solve the problem.
We also do not recommend using the select all button even through it is provided with the Chrome extension. This is a sure way to get hit by LinkedIn limits if it's not being used properly.
Does the Chrome extension show you constantly logged out?
Our extension requires that you have third-party cookies enabled in order to work. This allows us to communicate with our servers while browsing other websites.
To check if its enabled or disabled, visit chrome://settings/content/cookies and make sure "Block third-party cookies" is turned OFF.
Diagnosing the problem
If the solutions above don't help, give your browser a good restart and see what happens. If that doesn't work, you'll need to give us some diagnostic information in order for us to figure out what's going on:
- Have the Interseller Chrome extension open
- Right click anywhere in the Chrome extension window, click on "Inspect Element"
- When the the section appears, click on "Console"
- Take a screenshot (preferred) or copy/paste the information in that window
