Custom fields are a great way to gather more information or add a note for a contact in addition to an email address or name in Interseller. You can use custom fields inside your sequence to get it really personalized.

Adding Custom Fields

You can add a custom field within the settings of a sequence in the "Fields" tab.

You can add as many custom fields as you'd like. The following fields are reserved on Interseller so if you try to add them in a sequence's settings, it won't save:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Name
  • Email
  • Title
  • Company
  • Location
  • Phone Number

Once you add the custom fields, be sure to click "Save Changes" to save the custom fields you've created.

Mapping custom fields via CSV imports

While importing a CSV and mapping a column, be sure to create a new field where it'll map. That CSV column will then map into that custom field.

After you've created those fields, they'll be available for use in your sequence and it will also appear for every other contact in that sequence.

If you're importing a contact with a salutation in their first name, you'll want to create a custom field and then map the first name column with the salutation to that custom field. This will allow the salutation to sync over correctly and not be stripped during CSV imports.

Note: Custom fields can be removed and re-added. To learn more about this, check out our guide here
